3 Steps to A Frilly Cake

Sometimes investing in a tool will bring your decorating design from "nice" to WOW! The fondant frill cutter is one such tool that will give you professional results with just a little practice. Fondant frills are simple cake trims that resemble frilly lace and pretty ruffles. They add elegance to any cake, cupcake or creation.
3 Steps to A Frilly Cake
Tools Needed
Fat Daddio's frill cutter (Available in straight, hanging scalloped, scalloped and hanging frills)
Fondant work mat
Fondant knife
Modeling Tool
Rolling Pin
  1. Roll out your fondant or gum paste flat on a silicone mat.  Dust the top with cornstarch to prevent sticking.

  2. Place the Fat Daddio's Frill Cutter over the paste.  Press down on cutter with one hand.  Remove excess paste around Frill Cutter with other hand.

  3. Now you can apply the frill directly to your cake.  Frill can be applied directly to buttercream, but if applying fondant to fondant lightly brush the bottom with water to allow fondant to stick.
