Best Way to Cook Bacon EVER!

Mmmm, bacon! So many recipes call for bacon, even baked goods. (Have you seen the recipe for bacon-chocolate-chip-cookies?!) But the thought of standing over a skillet and getting pelted with tiny splats of grease does not excite me. Nor does cleaning the stove--and the counter, and the stove hood and the floor! Because of this I am always reluctant to make anything that requires bacon. Until I found the best way to cook bacon EVER! It is so easy. You don't need to stand over it, and the clean-up is minimal. Here's how...

Bake Your Bacon
Tools Needed
Large baking pan 12 x 16 x 3" (Fat Daddio's POB-12163)
Cooling rack (Fat Daddio's CR-Half)
Tongs
  1. Place cooling rack inside baking pan. Lay strips of bacon on top of cooling rack.

  2. Turn on oven to 425 F. Place pan of bacon in cold oven (Do not preheat).

  3. Let bacon cook in oven for 20-25 minutes. Check for crispiness. You may need to flip strips over.
  4. Remove bacon from the pan to a paper-towel lined plate. Enjoy.

What about the clean up?

  1. Allow pan to cool completely. Remove cooling tray, and place in the dishwasher (or hand wash).

  2. After the pan has cooled, remove rack. Place rack in the dishwasher.

  3. Pour bacon grease from the bottom of the pan into a tin-can for disposal.

  4. Wash pan with warm, soapy water. Never put your bakeware in the dishwasher. Learn more about Fat Daddio's care and use. Dry completely.
