Boy or Girl? Let the Cupcake Reveal

Is it a boy? Is it a girl? Those were the questions my husband and I both wanted to know years ago when I had my first ultrasound. We were in for the shock of our lives when the technician said "Both!" I'm not kidding! There had been no prior indication of twins. I was actually six months pregnant. We had already assembled the crib and set up the nursery. At that moment in the doctor's office we were pretty sure that someone was playing an April Fool's joke on us. No joke. A boy and a girl! Looking back, if the gender reveal trend had been popular I'm not quite sure how we would have pulled that off. Would we have given everyone 2 cupcakes? Or perhaps a blue and pink jelly bean baked inside? It really doesn't matter now. But I'll always treasure the memory of finding out the gender(s) of our twins in the doctors office. Learn how to create a fun memory with a cupcake reveal.

Reveal Cupcakes

This can easily be accomplished using a Fat Daddio's decorating set.

  1. Bake cupcakes according to recipe. Let cool completely.

  2. Fill pastry bag with large Bismarck tube attached with gender reveal color frosting (i.e. pink or blue).

  3. Poke tube into center of cupcake, add filling.

  4. Frost top of cupcake with a neutral color. Decorate as usual.
