When the warm months hit I try to make all our dinners outside on our deck, since we don't have air-conditioning. Pizza is one of my favorites to make on the grill. Yes, grilled pizza! The crust is crispy like a cracker, and has that smoky taste, just like a wood-oven.
Pizza on the Grill
Perforated pizza pan (Fat Daddio's PZ)
Pizza dough (Get our recipe here)
Pizza peel (Fat Daddio's SPAT-PEEL)
Pizza cutter (Fat Daddio's WC-4)
Quick Tip: Grill your veggies before you bake the pizza, then add to the crust.
- Preheat grill for high heat. Have pizza dough prepared ahead of time.
- Brush pizza pan with oil. Set pizza on pan. Place pizza pan with dough on hot grill. The dough will begin to puff almost immediately. When the bottom crust has lightly browned, turn the dough over with your pizza peel.
- Brush oil over crust, and then begin adding your toppings. Sauce first. Meat, veggies, cheese. Close the lid, and cook until the cheese melts.
- Remove from grill, and set aside to cool for a few minutes, before slicing with the pizza cutter.
