Tools Needed:
Electric mixer
Mixing bowl
Rubber spatula or spoon

1 cup butter (unsalted), room temperature
2½ cups powdered sugar
3 tablespoons whipping cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  1. In a medium-sized bowl, combine the butter and sugar. Stir together with a rubber spatula or a spoon the butter has absorbed the sugar.
  2. Using your stand or hand held mixer, mix on high speed until smooth.
  3. Add the cream and vanilla and mix again to incorporate.
  4. Use immediately or cover with plastic wrap and place in the fridge until needed. Store in the fridge for up to 1 week or for up to 2 months in the freezer in a freeze-proof container or bag. If you freeze it, let it thaw out overnight before using it.
